The Tensile force required to produce a rupture in a strip of paper board, measured in MD & CD expressed in kN/m. tensile strength is indicative of fiber strength, fiber bonding and fiber length. Tensile Strength can be used as a potential indicator of resistance to web breaking during printing or converting. The procedure standard explained in TAPPI T-494.

This Tearing Resistance Tester measure the resistance against tearing of paper board, plastic films and other similar materials. An initial cut is made in a set of test piece which are then torn through a given distance. The work done in the test piece is measured as the loss in potential energy. A calibrated scale indicates the mean tearing force.

FOLDING ( KOHLER-MOLIN TYPE ) Folding Indurance Tester is intended to determine the Folding Endurance of all kinds of paper, card board, foil and film and is applicable to the paper up to 0-15 mm in thickness having a tensile strength greater than 1.3kN/m.
Two Test sample can be tested simultaneously. The number of fold are stored into the counter, which are stopped counting automatically when the test sample breaks. Equipment conforms to the SCAN – P17 : 77 standard

Stiffness Tester is one of the most important properties of paper board as it affects the ability of cartons to run smoothly, through the machine that erects fills and closes them. Stiffness also gives strength and reduces the propensity of a carton to bulge under the weight of settling flow able contents such as cereals. Other factors which affect board stiffness include thickness, coatings, moisture content, grammage and density.
