There are other support functions to aid the functioning like Editorial, Public
relations, finance and Club development There are two types of Rotaract Clubs:
Community-based, in which any youth who is eligible can become a member. Campus-based,
in which only the members of that particular institution can become members.
Club Service

Ensuri
ng
smooth functioning of all Club programmes.

To oversee the responsibilities
of the Sergeant-at-arms.

Any activity which necessitates
involvement of Club members such as organizing or conducting
fellowship games to display the talents getting members to
speak on their favorite hobbies at meetings etc.

To develop/shape/motivate
Rotaractors in attending meetings/projects regularly.

To assist a Secretary in
his regular Club work.

Membership development with
the aim of maintaining balanced Club growth in age, gender
(if possible) and to carry out leadership development programmes
by assigning and guiding Rotaractors who have been assigned specific
tasks.
Club Service To
co-ordinate joint programmes with neighbouring Rotary/ Rotaract Clubs.
Community Service

To plan and conduct a few
community service projects each year, which will meet the important needs of
the community such as literacy promotion ,concern for the aged ( visitt he homes
for the aged/destitute/remand home etc.), drug abuse prevention, conduct interesting
competitions for students of the local schools and colleges, environmental protection
projects etc. Contact your sponsor Rotary Club President and request him to
lend the R.I Rotary Club Committee leaflets on community service which will
help you to plan your projects better, and will also give you an idea of the
committees you can form.

Create avenues for collaboration
with other community support organisations.

To advertise Rotary and
Rotaract ideals for greater community awareness.

to be noted is September - Youth Activities Month.

Vocational Service (Professional Development)

The vocational service is the avenue which aims towards promotion of high ethical
standards in various business and professions, enlightening the Club members
about various career opportunities and vocations, promoting excellence and achievement
orientation in various vocations and business by recognizing and honouring the
same and motivating the Club members to contribute their vocational skills to
the benefit of the Club as well as the community.

Some
of the ways to excel in your role as director for vocational service is by n
organizing Group/Pond discussion on various aspects of vocational service, like
promotion of Rotary's Four Way Test, Career Guidance, Awareness and Information
about various study and employment opportunities.

Schedule
vocational meetings at the vocational places of successful

industrialists,
businessmen and entrepreneurs, which will help your members
to know more about a wide range of vocations. Take the help of your parent Rotary
Club President to organize these meetings.

Honour
any outstanding professional businessmen/ entrepreneur who has n excelled in
his duties and has proved to be a role model forothers. Here don't concentrate
only on the top level executives/ businessmen but even on the middle and lower
level persons who have made a contribution to the community.

With
some efforts by your members to get financial sponsorship, you can hold n a
vocational training programme for young men and women in various job oriented
disciplines.

Refer to the R.I. Rotary Club Committee leaflets on vocational service available
with your parent Rotary Club President.

The R.I. designated month to be noted is October - Vocational Service Month.
International Service

To
organize projects with Rotaract Clubs of other districts so as to improve n
living conditions elsewhere in the world and also to increase world understanding
within the Rotaract Club as well as community.

To
promote member exchanges for limited periods of time for practical and n cultural
experiences.

Develop
your ideas and plan projects such as a joint bulletin release with a n Rotaract
Club in another country, invite international visitors to address you on interesting
subjects, conduct community fund raising programmes for major natural calamities
in other countries etc.

The
R.I. calendar months to be noted are n January - Rotary Awareness Month. February
- World Understanding Month.
Program Policies

Guiding policies for the Rotaract program come from the RI Board of Directors,
which consists of 18 past district governors from around the world, and the
RIpresident who is elected annually by the Rotary clubs. Each year the RI president
appoints a Rotaract committee whose role is to advise the Board on proposed
changes in program policy. Changes to the Rotaract program that would affect
the constitution of Rotary International or the RI-prescribed constitution of
Rotaryclubs can also be considered and acted upon by the Council on Legislation.
RI Rotaract Committee
Each RI president appoints an international committee to advise the Board on
the
Rotaract program. This standing committee includes both Rotarians andRotaractors
from around the world. Those who wish to make proposals to theBoard regarding
the Rotaract program should work through the RI Rotaract
Committee. Rotaractors interested in serving on this committee should ask aRotarian
to submit a letter of recommendation on their behalf to the RI president- elect.
All committee appointments are made at the discretion of the president- elect.RI
Secretariat and RotaractThe RI Secretariat is made up of RI World Headquarters
in Evanston, Illinois, USA,and seven international offices in Argentina, Australia,
Brazil, India, Japan, Korea,and Switzerland. RI staff are committed to providing
excellent service inadministering the Rotaract program worldwide.
World Rotaract Week
the week of 13 March,Rotaract clubs and their sponsors join in a celebration
of World Rotaract Week, commemorating the date on which Rotary International
officially certified the first Rotaract club. In honor of this week, Rotaract
clubs are invited to join with their Rotary club sponsors to carry out partner
activities. Those who participate receive recognition from Rotary International.
